Description:

Pyrostegia venusta, commonly known as flame vine or orange trumpet vine, is a climbing plant belonging to the Bignoniaceae family.
It is native to South America but is widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions for its showy orange flowers and ornamental foliage.
The vine has long, slender stems that can reach up to 30 feet in length and climb by twining around support structures.
The leaves are dark green, glossy, and lance-shaped, measuring up to 4 inches in length. The flowers are borne in clusters of 15-20 and are trumpet-shaped, measuring up to 3 inches in length.
They are bright orange in color and appear in the winter and spring months. The fruit is a long, narrow capsule containing numerous small, winged seeds.
Pyrostegia venusta prefers full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil. It is often used as a garden or landscape plant, as well as a source of nectar for birds and butterflies.

Plant Care:

Soil: Pyrostegia venusta requires well-draining soil. Mix a good quality potting soil with sand, perlite, or vermiculite to improve drainage.
Watering: Water the plant once a week or when the top inch of soil feels dry. Do not overwater the plant as it may cause root rot.
Sunlight: Pyrostegia venusta requires full sun to grow and bloom. Place the plant in a sunny location, preferably facing east or west.

Propagation: Pyrostegia venusta can be propagated from stem cuttings or seeds. Take 4-6 inch stem cuttings from healthy plants and root them in well-draining soil. Sow seeds in a seed tray filled with potting soil and keep them moist until they germinate.
Support: Pyrostegia venusta is a climbing vine that needs support to grow. Provide a trellis or support structure for the plant to climb on.
