  • Sundari Mangrove (Heritiera fomes) is a species of mangrove tree that is commonly found in the estuaries and tidal creeks of the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and northern Australia. It is known for its distinct aerial roots that help the tree to anchor itself in the soft mud of the intertidal zone.
  • Sundari Mangrove trees can grow up to 30 meters in height and have a dense, spreading crown with broad, shiny leaves that are leathery and oval in shape. The flowers of the Sundari Mangrove are small, white, and fragrant, and are followed by fruits that are large and woody with a single seed.
  • The Sundari Mangrove is an important species in its ecosystem as it provides habitat and food for a variety of animal species such as mud crabs, fish, and birds. Its leaves, bark, and fruit are also used for medicinal purposes in traditional medicine.

Unfortunately, the Sundari Mangrove is threatened by deforestation, pollution, and climate change. Plantation Process:

Here are the steps for planting Heritiera fomes, or Sundari Mangrove:
